Spring into foraging with this walk along the Almond. We will focus on the wild plants, edible fungi and their look-a-likes that grow in the early spring. Ambling through the trees and along the Almond we will explore how to make wild food a staple and the benefits of doing so - from the nutritional to the medicinal, cultural and philosophical. We will look at young shoots including few flowered leek, late winter greens, wild spices and any fungi. As well as edible plants, we will look a their medicinal properties, and how to use as a home remedy. Throughout the morning gather the basic skills required to identify common edibles as well as how to avoid poisonous & inedible lookalikes. We will look at how to store and use these ingredients, as well as how to do so sustainably.

The walk should last ~2 hours with the opportunity to stay a little later to ask chat and ask questions. Please note there are no facilities at this route. We will meet at the end of Almond Park Road (where it meets Selm Park), what three words: noun.stealing.curtail
